Top Six Pet Resolutions!
Happy New Year! It's January 4th and I have to ask -- have you kept your new year's resolutions??
If you're looking for some positive pet resolutions for 2020 we have come up with our own list of six things you can do!
1. More Walks!
One common resolution we make is to be healthier and exercise more. It's a good idea for our pets, too! After all, science shows that walks are a lot more enjoyable when you're out and about with your dog. (At least, they are for me...)
2. Better Behaviour!
For us humans, we usually say “I'll try to be nicer to people in the new year.” For pets, why not try and be better behaved? We hope to soon be able to offer obedience classes which can help teach your dogs manners including recall, behaving on leash and a whole lot more. Until then, have you thought about teaching your dog a new trick like “shake a paw”? We may not be able to shake hands right now so this is the next best thing!
3. Keep Your Canines Clean! (Supplies, Too!)
When is the last time you were treated to a spa day? How about your dog? Book them an appointment at our shop. (Book early as we are filling up fast!) Make it a point to brush them more often and give them more regular baths as well! How often do you wash your doggy bed or clean their food dishes? How about their collars and leashes? Rather than wait for spring cleaning, it's something you can do right now and more often. Don't worry, if they get a little too worn in you can always get new collars and leashes from our boutique!
4. More Quality Time With Your Pet!
In 2020, many of us had to work from home or had to stay home, and it allowed us to spend more time with our dogs. Who knows what will happen in 2021? One thing we can do, is try and spend a lot of time together... again! Whether it's just cuddling while watching TV or giving them scratches while relaxing and listening to music, you know they just love it. (We do, too. It's a win/win!)
5. Photo Shoot!
This is a specific way to spend some quality time. Kalie gave us this idea with her pictures of Ryder during Halloween and Christmas. Sooo cuuute! We'd love to see your furry friend dressed up, too. As always, tag us on Instagram with your own ideas.
6. Explore the Central Plains!
Finally, this is a resolution that can last you all year. Have you ever gone exploring all the great spots we have throughout the area? How about the great Pumpkin in Roland or the Tiger Hills near Treherne? (Maybe the big fire hydrant in Elm Creek is more their style...) Either way, there are plenty of reasons to go exploring and we'd love to hear about all of your trips! In fact, stay tuned for our own dog adventures throughout 2021!
