Four Reasons to Get Your Pup Professionally Groomed!

There are plenty of reasons to consider having your furry friend professionally groomed and I’ve broken them down into four very simple categories.
#1: They’ll look and smell gooooooooood!
I never get tired of the makeovers!
This is the most obvious reason so I’m mentioning it first. Who doesn’t love that new dog smell! (Who loves the wet dog smell? Anyone?) We can help make sure their coats are shiny and healthy. Depending on whether you go for the Full Groom or just a bath, we can get them clean for you. We wash ‘em, brush ‘em, comb ‘em, blow dry ‘em, and we’ll clean out their ears and trim their nails as well.
NOTE: This Wednesday, we will be doing a nail trimming event for charity. Every month, we donate the proceeds to a specific cause. This month, it’s the Prairie Pregnancy Support Centre. Check our social media for more information.
#2: We have the know-how already!
There is a lot that goes into dog grooming and we have studied for a long time to make sure we are capable of keeping your pups safe while we cut and style and so forth. We have all of that covered for you. On that note: we do not shave double-coated dogs. This includes breeds like golden retrievers, huskies, and border collies. Double-coated dogs have two layers of coats; a dense undercoat of short hairs to keep them warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and a top coat of longer hairs called guard hairs that repel moisture and dirt and protect from the sun. Shaving a double-coated dog in the summer does not help keep them cool. It ruins their fur, their cooling and insulation system, and puts them at risk for sun damage. Dogs will shed their undercoat in the summer to help cool themselves during the warmer temperatures. Instead of shaving, we can help by bathing and blowing out the undercoat, and using a comb to de-shed.

#3: It saves you time!
