BLACKOUT!!
Hey, my name is Rain. I'm here to tell you about a day us daycare doggies will never forget. It was the day the power went out at Kenny's K9.
I don't remember what day it was (Editor's note: it was Tuesday) and I don't remember what time it was (Editor's note: it was around 10am) but we are never going to forget this day.
We were having fun talking and playing when all of a sudden everything went dark. It was so weird.
There was no scary lightning or loud pops or bangs or anything. It was as if Auntie Kalie or Auntie Nicole flipped the light switch by accident. They have alibis though. They were hanging out with us the whole time.
I remember us dogs looking around to each other for answers. Sure, sometimes the humans turn the lights off and we sleep. But it wasn't night time! And the humans weren't sleeping! It didn't make any sense.
I remember looking to Boston but he was too busy staring at the pretty light Auntie Kenny bought as a backup. I'm not going to say Boston gets distracted by bright and shiny things. I'm not going to say it, I won't.
...
Moving along... some of us pups didn't seem too bothered by the blackout at all. Rue was just chilling out. Rue has a rule they follow. “Lights are out, so am I!” I kinda like it.
I went to Bruce and asked what they thought. “THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!”
Bruce gets a little excited sometimes. Expecting Bruce to not get excited about something like a blackout is like expecting Boston to not get distracted by bright and shiny things.
On that note...
Willow is a smart dog. They were looking up at the light trying to figure out what went wrong. I bet they'd have figured it out if they had a ladder to get up there. Also, hands to use some tools. Or the ability to speak English so they could tell the humans what to do. Either way, Willow was totally going to figure it out.
Anyway, Coco was the one who said everything would be fine because the humans always take care of us. And Coco was right. There was no chaos. No ghosts. No monsters underneath our cots. (We checked.) All in all, not a whole lot changed.
The power came back on shortly after this photo was taken where we all stuck together. After all, as long as we are together, everything would be fine.
The humans cheered, we howled, and we didn't celebrate with a big ol' bag of treats like I thought we might. Maybe next time. Gotta be optimistic.
Thanks for reading my story. Maybe you'll stick around for the next one? It'll be so good. It will be about the time we went searching for the big ol' treat bag. Ah, the memories...
